Kristen's Story
Well I am 38, divorced with three kids aged 17, 11 and 10 and I live in Oak Lawn. Recently lost job so if anyone hears of anything, let me know.
After St. Turibius I went on to Maria High School. I worked most of the time after graduating while deciding what I wanted to do. In 1992 I had my oldest daughter and added to my family in 1998 and 1999.
After I was divorced I attended Fox College to learn marketable skills of some kind in order to gain employment. Haha! I graduated from Fox College in June of 2003 and began my job downtown a few weeks thereafter. I love downtown when it is all lit up at night, but I hate the commute.
My kids and all their activities keep me very busy and therefore do not have a social life. My oldest is a senior at Marist High School and is looking at colleges already. She wants to study research meteorology and Valpo, UIUC and U Wisconsion at Madison are strong contenders now. My other two are in 4th and 6th grades and keep me on my toes. Ballhockey, football, softball, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball you name it and they have probably done it. Currently, the oldest is focusing on her studies. My youngest two play ballh...Expand for more
ockey, which they love. My little guy is an awesome goalie.
I like romantic comedies, not mushy romances and there is a difference. like "It Could Happen to You", "While You Were Sleeping" and "Overboard". I am also an HGTV and Food Channel nerd. Cake Boss is one of my faves along with Ace of Cakes. I also like "I Love Lucy". I like being with my kids and doing things with and for them.
I also teach second grade Sunday School at my Church, a Lutheran Church in Palos Heights. It has been an unique experience, and I love it.
I love to cook, love to eat. Steak is my favorite food, along with potatoes (mashed, double baked, baked with tons of butter, does not matter). I know, fat and starch.
What's on my iPod? What isn't? I have everything from Elvis to Creed, Jim Croce to Aerosmith, and Garth Brooks to Lynyrd Skynyrd. However, it is 80% Country. I love Brad Paisley and Tim McGraw.
Favorite songs? Elvis' "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You", IZ's "Over The Rainbow", Aerosmith's "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" and Edwin McCain's "I'll Be". I also like Garth's "To Make You Feel My Love", an oldie but a goodie.
Hope everyone out there is well!
