Kristi's Story

Life On January 6, 2003 my daughter Maggie was born. She's the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and will probably be keeping me on my toes for the rest of my life, if the first four months of her life are any indication. I was a stay-at-home Mom, which was a hard transition for me because I'd been working most of my life, but now that Maggie has gotten a little older, I had gone back to work. I'm working as a Legal Secretary. It's a new field for me, and it's been very interesting. I've learned a lot and am enjoying my job very much. College I went to UB in 1987, and left in 1993. I attended OCC on and off for a few years, but couldn't afford any of the four year colleges in Syracuse. When I moved to Texas, I looked into transferring to the Unversity of Texas at Arlington to finally finish, but UTA would only have made me a sophmo...Expand for more
re, and at UB I was a super-senior. I called UB to see if there was anything I could do to finish my degree. They told me I needed 2 classes and I get my piece of paper. I ended up taking a class at UTA when I was pregnant for Maggie (that sucked), and I took a class from UB online. I have my BA in Psychology. Better late than never, I guess. Workplace When I went back to work in Dallas, I went to work with the company Tim has been working at for over 10 years. I started work as a Sarbanes - Oxley Admin assisting with compliance. Two months later Tim was relocated to San Diego, CA. The temp agency found me another position as a Logistics Analyst, assisting with NAFTA compliance. Tim got another job, back in Texas. I can't work for him, so I'm out of a job. In 2008, I went back to work as a Legal Secretary. I'm enjoying my work very much.
