Kristi's Story
Life
1987 - 1995: I flunked out of Del Mar (big suprise), joined the Air Force, lived in England and Arizona before moving San Antonio. During those years I had an interesting career as an Air Force Historian, I had a disastrous marrige followed by a much needed divorce, and I helped my folks move to a little ranch near Devine, TX.
1995-Pres: I got out of the AF and got my act together despite falling on my ass a few times. I also finished my education, started a business, roomed with and lived vicariously through my kid brother Aaron (if you know him you'll understand), met a Prince Charming (yes it is possible), got married, lived in Washington DC, saw my dad retire, and became Aunt Kristi.
Now, I've come to terms with and enjoy who I am (flaws and all)and I'm lovin' life in the Florida Keys.
Lately Hubby & I are thinking about kids, a move to the UK, and buying a little land in TX.
I remember "most" of my fellow Bluffies fondly and would love to hear from you.
Military
Let's see what I remember...
Lakenheath (1988-1991):
-Marty & Julie, despite the bad end still remember the good times.
-Trisha Rogge and her brutal honesty.
-JP Starling whom I was secretly in love with.
-Bobby Yisiguries (I know I spelled it wrong)to this day one of the most beautiful people I have ever known.
-Dave Nylund and his crew(very cool guys).
-Tequila, Captin Morgans Spiced Rum and Southern Comfort, if you witnessed any of...Expand for more
the "incidents" you'll know why I still cannot drink any of them.
-The saint that was my first supervisor.
-Freezing my ass off and sucking rubber off during LSNs as an SP Auggie.
-The William Tell Overture (still makes my heart race.)
-James Habeck, whom I married.
-Hat parties.
-Working for & living with the cops.
-New Years at Trafalger Square.
Davis Monthan (1991-1994)
-Flag Exercises in Vegas.
-Meeting Kelly Wojotovitch (also spelled wrong)Still one of my closest friends.
-The Wing Agressors.
-Lt Col Hunt and the rest of the IG staff.
-Valerie in PA and her Zest.
-Ralph, need I say more?
-Desert Sunsets.
-Rattlesnakes right outside the AMU door.
-The beginning of the end of my marrige.
-Melissa Brashear and her strength.
-Great Hiking and Camping on Mt. Lemmon.
-Squeets.
Randolph AFB (1994-1995)
Although most of my memories of Randolph suck and I have blocked them, there are a few worth mentioning...
-Trina & Jonell (my neighbors) and the back yard pot-lucks in housing.
-Tim, although he tried, was the worst supervisor I've ever had.
-The end of both my AF career and my marrige.
-Being near my Family.
-Having the keys to the top of the Taj.
-Scotty's Thai.
I met so many wonderful people at these places and had some good, bad, and character shaping experinces. Thank you to all of you who were there for me I'd love to hear from you. And if you were an asshole, don't worry, I believe in Karma.
