My Job
I get paid for a 40 hour work week but might work 2-3 days a week. I am a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP), and for all of you out there that don't know what that is, I run the Heart-Lung machine during open heart surgery. Basically it takes over the body's functions of breathing and circulation and I am in charge of keeping the patient alive and maintaining the correct body ...Expand for more

College
I went to Southwest Missouri State University and received a BS in Chemistry in 1998. Seven weeks later, I moved to Houston, TX for a year to attend Texas Heart Institute's School of Perfusion Technology. When I completed perfusion school, I moved back to Joplin and began practicing perfusion at St. John's and have been there ever since.
