Kristie's Story

Life There is not much to say. I have gone to many places since school. I got married right out of school. I had 3 sons. Their ages are now 19, 16, and 13. While I was married, I travelled to Japan, Montana,California, and again back to Hawaii and Colorado. I was married 19 years and just went through a divorce. I can say 18 of the 19 years of my marriage was great. But we didn't last through the mid life crisis stage. So now I am single and living in Southern California. I am learning to enjoy life in new ways. I took up jogging. Love the beach. Enjoy my dogs and my boyfriend (who is also from Hawaii). I work for the government as a Nurse. That is me in a nutshell. School I moved arounds so much in school that it is hard to remember all the wonderful people that I met. In Dolores I remember the most. Since I was there the longest. I remember hanging out with Loretta and Amy in school. Going to Joyce Scrivners house. I remember Wendy heart and playing in her back yard. Playing in the neighborhood with Brent Mclain, Tracy Wagner, The Zahorka brothers. Spending time with Heidi Lincoln at her parents horse stables. Remember how all the girls in school had a crush on Mr Spitzer? In Waimea Intermediate I remember being the new kid and how everyone thought I was from California. Everyone thought I knew how to speak Valley girl. Michelle Andrade took me under her wing and showed me the Aloha way. I was just a tall blond kid that the local kids thought needed to be paired up with the other tall kid in school. I don't even remember his name. I just remember walking around holding hands with him and wondering why I had to have a boyfriend so quick. I remember a kid named David. Mischell was enamoured with him. I had a crush on a guy named Kamuella. But he didn't even know who I was. I thought he had pretty eyes. Then came Honokaa High. I remember John Mathiews hanging out with me and my sisters. I remember Elaine and Sherri anne, and Cheryl and An...Expand for more
drew. I remember going to prom with Gary and dating Orin Honda. My sister Stephanie kept setting me up with dates. The best memory of Honokaa High was David Yagong sitting on the portch of the school and playing "Red Red Wine" on the Uku Lele. I especially remember band and watching the drummers. There was one guy that was unusually tallented with drums and piano. I admired him for his tallent. Mr Hunt and his english classes. Mr Nakagawa, Mrs Duer, Mr Kubo. I think I had the greatest time in Honokaa. The I was suddenly in Belen, NewMexico. Again a new kid. Funny thing is I picked up on the pidgen accent so much that people teased me and told me I talked like a 3rd grader. But I quickly got back to the swing of things. I remember hanging with Theresa. I had a crush on a couple of young guys. I dated Donny Gribble. I remember hanging out with Phillip and Edwin. They made me feel so welcome. I adopted them as big brothers. I went to prom with Erik Padilla. I had alot of fun in Drama and Band. I really loved the band then. Mr Delgado taught me soooo much about self discipline. Then finally came my senior year. Again I was in Hawaii. I knew the culture. I was a bit more confident now. I had a summer romance with Virgil Green. Then I dated Shaun Kite. My bestest friend wis Mia Ward. We had so many adventures driving my car and partying at her house. I loved Hapuna Beach. Had some fun at the Old Airport. Worked at Hawaiian Treasures. Tried out modeling. Was in drama with my cousin Kary and my stepsister. Had fun in the Liberated Cinderella play. Hung out with Kimo (James Spalding) Remember talking to Todd Brayton about some serious decisions he was making. I hope he is ok today. Because I moved so much, I became a very adaptable person. I loved all the great gifts all you guys taught me. So many of you gave me so much kindness. I may not have spoken your name, But I do remember all the kindness you guys welcomed me with. And I thank you all for that.
