Kurt's Story
I consider my home town as Stony Brook, New York. I really enjoyed growing up there and my time at Port Jeff High. Later I graduated from the University of Rochester (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering) . After college, I worked for Pratt & Whitney in Hartford and West Palm Beach. Then on to get an MBA from the University of Florida in Finance. I worked in Miami for a long time in banking and not for profit organizations. onstruction of Copia, The American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts. For 21 years, I worked in San Francisco and Napa for a variety of cultural and environmental not for profit organizations. In 2020, I moved back to Piermont, NY on the Hudson and married Karel Ripel, Class of 1966, who I took to the Senior Prom in 1965 !!
I have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. My main avocation has been performing trumpet in numerous musical organizations over the years ever since High School.
