Kurt's Story
Life
Well, since the last update life has thrown me a lot of curveballs. Life is a wild ride, and I'm in the front seat of the rollercoaster (I wouldn't want it any other way)!!
I am now married to Jacqueline (formerly Hemphill) Wagner.. The one I wanted to be with my whole life.
I will never say my first marriage was a mistake, but I am now where I always wanted to be.
I earned my promotion to Mechanic III status in late 2004, and an additional moniker of "Technical Information Specialist" while gaining Ford fleet training and my ASE Advanced Level Specialist" (L1) certification.
I have since retired from the County of Riverside.
In August,2004 I was chosen to work as a Local Coordinator for the Champ Car Inner Circle Fan Club and assist the directors (and other ChampCar fans) at the events I attended (Long Beach, Portland, San Jose, Laguna Seca, Road America) and coordinate fan activities in Las Vegas and Denver (even though I don't reside either place).
Champ Car may be a distant memory, but I still hold it in high regard. I was asked to work with the IRL fan club after the merger, but could not agree with where thing...Expand for more
s were going, and politely declined their offer.
I started renovating this house in 2010 (yeah... 12 years into the process, and my house STILL isn't finished..), but we are a long way ahead of those who have been through it! Being an "owner-builder" doesn't make it easy!
To me, it's all part of the plan to get what we want and still live our lives.
The house is progressing, but with the SoCal build up happening, there isn't the labor I need in place to finish the job right now.
Lesson #1 in the "karmic structure": Life is ALWAYS a "work in progress"... The minute it becomes less is when you have settled for less!
In short, life is good... I can't say I don't want for more, but I know that the gains come from hard work and not from wishes.
Needless to say, I still work, play and love with great intensity, and have no regrets about it.
Big props to those of you who never lost faith in me... I may have "broke bad" and done my time for it, but I'm very little the worse for it and learned the lessons that were taught.
BTW, I'm still standing! It will take more than this life has shown me to beat me!!!!
