L Lee's Story
After high school, I spent the next decade partying and completing my college education, while also being a single parent and working at least one job. I graduated by the time I turned 30 with degrees in Accounting and Computer Science.
For the next ten years, I climbed the financial world ladder to success, buying property, traveling and getting totally stressed out.
I moved to the state of New York in 1994 to be near my daughter, who had moved there with her dad. I changed my name to Lee (my middle name), quit my promising career, rented out my properties, and traveled across the US by myself. I had no place to live an...Expand for more
d no job. It was liberating.
When I came back to Oregon, I thought at first I would step back into that financial world I had left. My heart wasn't in it.
I have been living on the coast now for 8 years working as a licensed tax consultant and loving it. I don't manage any employees. I work with numbers all day, which was always my favorite subject.
My daughter now has three children that I adore. I still don't feel old enough to be a grandma.
I've managed to stay single through all this. Probably because I didn't stay put for very long.
