Lacy's Story
After graduation I worked for a year for AT&T, then went on a mission for my church for two years. After returning I married Evelyn Shikert, who had been married and had 2 children. I adopted the two children and we had 4 more together. We went to the University of Florida in 197l where I obtained my Bachelor's in 1974 then went to Physician Assistant School from 1974 to 1976. I have worked as a Physician Assistant since then.
We moved several times, ending up in Tallahassee where I received my Master's in Counseling and where Evelyn and I divorced. I married my present wife Donna Basford of Hannibla, Mo. in 1986. She had 3 sons by her first marraige and between the two blended families we now have 19 grandchildren.
We have lived in Titusville, Cross City, Orange Park, Dade City, Marianna, Tallahassee, Cotton, Ga, Navarre, Perry, Dowling Park, and then back to T...Expand for more
allahassee after Donna had a stroke in 2010. My sweetheart, companion and best friend, Donna passed away in April of 2014 after another stroke. Oh, how I miss her.
Other than my family, my religion and my work, I enjoy music, specifically singing. I have performed in community theater musicals, choirs and choruses over the years. In 2000 I made a Christian music CD and in 2003 I participated in a Musical Showcase in New York City.
I also enjoy writing, having written poems and words to several songs. My next project well be an attempt at a book which I would like to write about my encounters with people through my life, their impressions on me, lessons I've learned from them and impacts they have had on me. My working title is "Intersections and Interludes".
My association with the people that I care for is helping remind me that life is not over til it's over.
