Ladonna's Story
After Graduation, Mom moved to Savannah, GA then Cincinnati where she met and married our Dad. They were married for 10 years. They moved from Cincinnati to Cleveland to Melbourne, FL then they moved to just outside Augusta, GA - in North Augusta, SC. Six years later, Mom married our Step-Father and moved to Augusta, GA.
She continued to love singing, a trait and love she passed along to her son Russ. She worked as a local stage actress and supported local arts in and around Augusta. Through AA, she was sober for nearly 10 years before her death. , worked as a hygenist, helped build up a local-based marketing firm then ultimately got her College Degree and a Masters in Counseling/Therapy. She was a member of a public speaking team who gave corporate development training on topics helping to build team building, and developing a positive workplace. She earned a certificate from Myers-Briggs, Dr. Waye Dyer, and Bill McGraine for training in positive affirmations. She was featured regularly on local TV for her charity work and her training series "Women Who Love Too Much" which focused on helping women not be codependent on their relationships, alcohol, drugs, or any addicting habit. At her funeral, we were overwhelmed by the love and support from 4 hours of visitors, mostly patients, recovering addicts, students, and local friends.
