LaDonna's Story
Life
Hi! I am living in Fremont, was married in 1975 but now divorced. I have two beautiful and intelligent daughters (Jennalee is 28 and Melissa is 26) and several small grandchildren.
I used to work for iLogistix Corp in Fremont as WW Operations, Materials and Systems Manager. I enjoyed traveling for business around the US, to Mexico, Singapore and Taiwan.
In the fall of 2002 I was diagnosed with a skull-based tumor called a "clival chordoma", close to the brain stem. I had surgery by an excellent neurosurgeon at Stanford Hospital, then 9 weeks (41 treatments) of proton beam radiation at Loma Linda Hospital in So. Cal. Right now the cancer is in remission and I have MRIs every 6 months to check things out. I'm not back to working yet, but hope to at some point.
I still enjoy music..the old stuff, the new stuff, you name it!
In high school it seemed I was usually referred to as "Tim Hoyt's sister". Boy, did that get old!
I still keep in touch with a few high school friends but would love to hear from some more.
*Update 2021: my daughters were born in 12/76 and 12/78. So right now they are still 44 and 42. I also have a step-daughter named Michele now 47 (?). Between the 3 girls I have 11 grandchildren. Family is everything! Next Friday I will turn 65. I’ll officially be a senior! I’m still single and enjoy getting reac...Expand for more
quainted with old friends. 😁
School
In high school I was on the gymnastics team. My best friend through high school was Becky Stelle. (She's been my friend since 1961 and still my best friend.) I enjoyed taking biology, chemistry and psysiology classes, and at that time thought I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. Mr Yonk was my biology and psysiology teacher, he was a good teacher. (I wonder how many doctors actually evolved from that class?) I was also a TA (Teacher's Assistant) in some PE classes and also in French classes (studied French through junior year). One of my French students took to the French flirtatious way of life seriously and put love notes in my locker, one in French! (You know who you are, Louis!) Very sweet. I took Journalism my senior year and that was fun. I had exta credits, so I graduated a semister early and worked full time, earned money to buy a car. Came back for the Senior Ball at the St Francis Hotel in San Francisco! That was a blast!
College
I attended Ohlone College full time the first year, then a class at a time (over the years). My college of choice would have been Berkeley, and I recall being accepted there, but it was so expensive! I thought the hippie scene would have been really cool!
Anyway, by the time I got to college I changed directions and took business related classes.
