More about Lamar:"The Lord Jesus saved me in October 1978, but not all things changed so quickly. I really struggled to understand the real import of this new and budding faith and how this faith needed to translate into all facets of my life. I had to learn how to move from being a victim of circumstances to being a victor in Christ by taking more and more responsibility in my life for my life. I married Penny Loraine Shofner on November 20, 1982, and we attended Bryan College, beginning in January 1983. In 1985, while I was a Junior, our Lord turned our world upside down when He gave us twin sons who were 10-weeks premature and suffered significant physical set backs and challenges. Jonathan, more than a quarter of a century later, requires our total care. Through this tragedy of events, the Lord Jesus honed our lives, built our faith in Him, and forged a path of triumph out of tragedy! I would like to be able to say that "I have arrived," but I would be lying because I require so much more work; so, I trust God through His dear Son for the glorious outcome (see Phil. 1:6)!".
