Lance's Story
Lance is from Wayne, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State Univ. in 1971 with a BFA degree and worked several years as an Art Director and Graphic Designer. Lance's schools include Wayne Memorial High School. Lance started an aviation company, Lancair having designed and built the first Lancair prototype in 1984. Lancair became an industry leading aircraft company working closely with NASA and the FAA. At its peak, Lancair employed over 800 people in two countries. ucted into the Experimental Aircraft Association's Hall of fame in 2009. Lance lives in central Oregon where the Lancair kit company still resides. Cessna Aircraft bought the Lancair certified production company where their flagship single engine aircraft is the Lancair Columbia 400 turbo, renamed the Corvalis TTX. Lance effectively retired in 2003. Lance married Linda Brown in 1983, they have two children, Jessica Lynne born in 1984 and Kristen Michelle born in 1989. Both girls live in the San Diego Area (Pacific Beach).
