Lance's Story

This is my story & I'm sticking to it!
In late '75 ( early freshman year ) my family moved from Miraleste to Bishop to operate a motel business. I played tennis my freshman & senior year. During my senior year I ran cross country, performed gymnastics, participated as a peer counselor & as always, worked at the motel.
In the fall of '79, My family moved to Spokane, Washington where I attempted a lengthy college course called "Goofing Off-101" & passed with flying colors ;-)
IN the fall of '81, I joined the Air Force. Spent four years in Ft. Worth, Texas then two years in Yuba City/Marysville, California.
After the Air Force experience I ended up back in Texas, refurbishing & operating a motel as a General Partner, in the small town of Bowie. That project lasted up to the early '90s.
I relocated to Ft. Worth where I got "hitched" & became the father figure for three boys who certainly deserved a better chance! Employment was in manufacturing + subcontract delivery through the late ...Expand for more
'90s & into the new melinium. I Managed to squeeze in one years worth of college near the end of that two job era.
Then in '04 I took a truck driving course, got my commercial drivers license & went over the road trucking for US Express. Some months later, I found out that my spouse wanted to be "unhitched" & that gave true meaning to the title "Solo Driver".
So, in May '06 I went to the doctor & was informed that both my hips were "bone-on-bone". No wonder I walk like a penguin!
October '07 one new hip... scheduled for the other new hip replacement on May 13, 2008.
I am blessed!
I am looking very forward to BOTH class of '79 30 year reunions. I wish to continue reaching out to all my ole school mates! It would be so great to be at Miraleste & Bishop reunions, but not on the same weekend. That is how the dates landed for my bro. Lee's 30 year reunions.
I hope to hear from everyone possible. Lets get an extra early start & spread the word for a Huge turn out! We never know until we try!!!
