I continued to make these products for my friends and family, and they all raved about the products as well. I never thought that this could become a profitable business. Since everything from the name of my products to the packing, has meaning behind it. I chose Token of My Love as the name of my business, to reflect that.
I was encouraged to be a vendor at the 2008 CIAA Tournament, in Charlotte, NC. I was the only vendor to sell out! she knew that she had something great. Every event I did afterwards, had the same result. Unfortunately, my life took a dramatic and tragic turn. My oldest son Jamall (18) was accidentally killed by a friend of his. A week before my son was killed, he randomly expressed to me, his love for my products. His exact words were "Mom, keep making your products, because I love them". Making products is not only my passion, it is my therapy to cope with my loss. Anyone who encounters TOML, feels the love and passion that is put into every aspect of it.".
