Lanny's Story
I was a foster child when I attended North Surrey Sr. Secondary. I was into Transcendental Mediation and other aspects of eastern religion, but my foster mother was a Christian (Carol Steen's mother Pauline) and she and her friends and family prayed for me. I became a Christian during the summer of 1972. I'm very thankful for those prayers!
I went through a lot of hard knocks because I was stubborn, but I dropped out of that school eventually. Ha ha! I finally learned that I didn't have to always be hit over the head with a board to learn my lessons.
I have two children and three grandchildren - my precious treasures!
I have a website. I love to write. English was always my best subject and I always managed to pass it, though I never studied...Expand for more
for it. I took a year's program in Business Management at Sprott-Shaw. I was so glad to get the chance to go to community college and finally do school the way I wish I had in my teens. I obtained my goal of getting straight A's. Sometimes I worked all night to finish my projects. One time, I got only five hours of sleep in three days because I was working on a project for a course that was badly planned, but I got the marks I wanted.
I am a secretary. I worked for two years for Prayer Canada, a ministry that encourages Christians to pray for government leaders. Currently, I serve as a secretary for Christian Friends of Israel - Canada and hope to join a tour to Israel in January 2015 - first time ever in Israel! I'm so excited about that!
