Lara's Story

Life I am currently obtaining my PhD in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I graduated from The University of Colo. Boulder in 2001 with degrees in Molecular Biology and Psychology. I then took a year and a half off and traveled around the world - Australia, Greese, Italy, Turkey, New Zealand, Costa Rica... I have ever done. Now I am learning all about plants and genetically modified foods. I am working on potato, specifically disease resistance to the pathogen that caused the Irish potato famine. I love Madison. I have met wonderful people and really enjoy the town. It reminds me of Boulder. I will be here for at least another two years... then who knows where I will end up!
