Lara's Story
I'm a whole lot older, a whole lot larger, a whole lot sadder, a little bit happier. and not near as much wiser as I wanted to be.
Today, I am the mother of one child at home. Her name is Sarah, she is my sweet angel. As bright, active, bossy,
entertaining as a child can be. She is Home-Schooled as well as attending a wonderful on-campus program near-by. I am married to a man who I once considered to be my best friend, but now I'm not so sure I know who he is. His time in the military and other things that happened over the years hve led to a severe case of Post-Tramatic Stress that he can't seem to beat. Sometimes it seems that he has given up trying. We are caring for both his elderly mother and another elderly relative. Unfortunately, he lost his job some time ago and hasn't been able to find another. Sometimes I don't think he's trying. It's not all bad though I have Sarah, and my oldest daughter lives somewhat nearby so I see her and my granddaughter sometimes. I get to see Sarah experience the joy of being an auntie, as well as Talyrra's joy in being a mom. I treasure the days Sarah and I are on campus at her school. I have made some good friends and so has she.
When I think of the past and High School it seems like another life that belonged to someone else entirely. If my old friends remember me at all, I hope it is with the knowledge that I did my best to be there for them.To listen when they needed me to, and just to be a good friend to them.

have a hero I think it is my daughter Sarah. She handles everything life throws at her and she just keeps it all together. She's so happy and loving. She has lost both my parents, as well as an adopted grandmother and an auntie in the last three or four years. As well as the troubles with my husband and the illness of her dad who has cancer. She has dealt with my MS as well as my heart attack and she still can laugh and love and help Mommy with anything she can possibly do. She inspires me to keep plugging away at life just for her.
I lived in Auburn until I split with my first husband. than I moved to Puyallup with my second husband and my son and daughter. From there we moved to Seattle where my third child, a daughter was born. I split with my second husband when she was 10 months old. A year later I married my present husband and in the almost 20 years we've been together we had several more kids and moved around a lot. He was in the Navy. Califonia to Hawaii back to California. Nine years ago we split up for almost a year. I moved back to Aberdeen, Washington and had Sarah. Than we got back together shortly after I moved up to Arlington, Washington to care for an eldery relative of mine. So here I am now.
I think to be truly happy I would have a house with a nice chunk of property somwhere near all my kids so that they could visit regularly. I could have goats and horses and chickens etc. and a big garden and an orchard of fruit trees. Big dreams, huh?
