Laraine's Story
After working in banking for 10 years after graduation, I changed goals and, after considerable work, I graduated from UCSD in 1990 with a PhD in Cognitive Psychology. I now am a professor at Brooklyn College and the City University of New York Grad Center and I love doing research and working with students. ve been married for 35 years and we have an edgy 17 year old son who sells his graffiti-style artwork in Manhattan. We love to travel but in this economy I think we will be staying closer to home. We enjoy NYC but love to come back to California to see family and to relax in the summer. Retirement is out of the question- we live simply and enjoy whatever comes our way. I am truly surprised at how my life has turned out- it is not what I expected when I was 18!
