Larry's Story
From high school to age 34 it was mostly me and my guitar. Sure, I had a few other love distractions on the way, however, nothing that felt like forever.
I remember, at age 28, sitting at a traffic light at Sunset and US1 (Miami) watching a guy with a young boy waiting to cross US1. Hand in hand, teaching him to look in all directions and be patient, while keeping a watchful eye on the traffic light, they succeeded. I thought to myself how great it would be for me to have a child and share with him/her the benefit of my experiences and knowledge.
I was 34 years old when I meet the right girl and got married. At age 38, we had our first baby girl and at age 42 a baby boy (that makes him 9 years old at the time of this story).
In the interim, I began to soul search and discovered a new faith. I converted from Judaism (non-practicing other than my Bar Mitzvah at age 13) to Catholicism during April of 2000. Some will say I did it for my wife. However, I will tell you that nobody can make me do what I don¿t want to do. I did it because I feel it and believe it to be the truth. I have been fortunate enough to witness miracles and truly believe that with faith, anything can be accomplished.
Having lived in Miami all of my life, in 2004, I had enough of the traffic and the high cost of living. We moved to Dacula, GA (about an hour ...Expand for more
north of the Atlanta airport). I had never heard of Dacula and thought that the name was kind of creepy (too much like Dracula), however, our home community, Hamilton Mill, is great. 2,100+ upscale homes, over a dozen tennis courts, 2 major swimming pools, professional golf course, great neighbors and everything within a short driving distance. My wife Adela appreciates the fact that we are minutes away from The Mall of Georgia, which is one of the biggest in the state.
After being here for a year, I dropped out of Corporate America. I was in the flower business for 15 years with the last 4 years as the Director of E-commerce for a major importer/distributor.
I got into real estate investment and a year later got my r.e. license. Needless to say, I picked a tough time to be in real estate, however, I cant envision myself doing anything else. I like to help people and I always need the financial carrot dangling in front of me to keep me happy. Never could stand being boxed in with a salary. Something about unlimited potential keeps everything interesting. Could be why I still play the lotto!
Congratulations if you made it this far into the story. If you remember me, send me a message and let me know what you are up to these days.
Blessings to you!
-Larry
P.S. I still visit my old girlfriend frequently (the guitar, of course).
