Iranian navy not a match with US Navy in the Persian Gulf. Second deployment went on a ship's world cruise. Also went across the equator twice and whole crew involved in tradtional hazing. They rubbed my face on this fat man's belly with black oil. The ship saved garbage for at least 3 weeks and packed a shoot-like canvass with a the diameter of a garbage can's width was at least 15 feet long. The ones who were being initiated into the Davy Jones Locker had to crawl into this smelly stinky slimmy shoot-like-it was disgusting. The very first through the 4th person who crawl through had the worst of ordeal, but the very first one out had (every initiatee) to dive into this tank of water on the flight deck which was 12 feet long, go under the water, come up/out on the other side. At first the water is clean. On a aircraft carrier of a crew of over 5,000 personnel and may be half of crew and squadron personnel may have participated. Can you just imagine if you were the 200th person to dive into that disgusting water tank! After all this is completed a group of about a dozen would take off all their clothes throw off the side into the ocean-line up facing the the hosing team-they would hose off the men in line on both sides and around their bodies. This took almost a whole day. It was something to really remember!! Port visits to Hawaii, Subic Bay Phillipines, Korea, Singpore, Hongkong/Kowloon, Pataya Beach Thailand Seattle Washington, went to 2 days safari in Mombasa, Kenya, Africa-awesome!!!, Rio de Janerio South America, Saint Thomas Virgin Islands -beautiful white beaches- clear water and sharks!! 1990 November 30. Retired from active duty transfered to inactive fleet reserved. After spending some time at my parents home in Lathrop. My two boys and I head off to San Antonio, Texas-(1990-1992). It was rough looking for work. All I could find was-jobs that paid 5.50 per hour. I got a job at Fort Sam Houston as a clerk inputting groceries supplies for the comissary. This was only temporary position. I found out-that I was the only one that knew how to operate their desktop computer. I did diligent figuring how the computer system work. I figured it out and when I did the commissary management kept insisting for me do things for them on the computer system. ...Expand for more

I kept on mentioning that I am temporary assignment. Sure enough I was laid off. The commisary sometimes would call me while I am home at my sister's house in San Antonio. I got hired at a company caled "Search and Recruit". This was owned by a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer. THey had two other persons that were already working there. The job was not for me I knew off the bat, but I was hired anyway. I figured why not-it would be something new. After 4 months-I was not meeting their quota-and I got fired, First in my whole life I ever got fired from any job. So tested to work for the IRS in Austin, Texas. I got called in. I went to the IRS. There was about 50 people taking the practice applications there. There was like 6 veterans including my self. We all had to mermorize a bunch of IRS forms for inputing people data into their computer system. You had like a split second to decide what keys to press down. After that for 1 week, the final test came. I was not very good at these forms. After the exams/test were all checked-they had us in this room and had everybody to be hired to sit on the right side and ones not to be hired to sit on the left side. Everyone of us veterans set on the left side-we were not going to be hired-all of us veterans looked at each others face-we said to each other - "I wonder what is wrong with us?". IRS said we could apply again after one year. I did not. I knew I did not want to be at a desk. I hated sitting behind a desk even when I was a manager in Navy. So I went home. As I went to pick up mail at my sister's mail box I happen to come across a mail man delivering mail and I asked- is it hard to get on in the Post Office. He mentions that you have to take a postal test. So I did-the test was very easy but it was accuracy and speed. The speed I had and accuracy I did not. The highest score out of all the exams I took was a 77%, passing was 70. In order to be called in for an interview you had to have at least a 90%. I could not get passed 77%. I research it and I found out that their is a seminar I could take which was a week long at a local hotel-they provided us a book-casette tapes to listen to and when you complete the course-they would send you once a month a news letter showing were opennings and postal exams were being given. That was gold to me. I applied all over Texas. I drove here and there applying and taking exams. Would you know I was getting scores of 105%, 108%, 100% and that is including 10 points added to my score, because I was 10% disabled Veteran. I got hired in Dallas Texas and then transfered to Fort Worth Facility which was closer to my home in Arlington, Tx. That is were I am today in Arlington , Tx since May of 1993 to the present. Once in the US Postal Service-they pay you good and with benefits. The work is really physically demanding and very stressful. Supervision and management is completely a different story. In the US Navy I manage at the most 21 supervisors and over 158 enlisted personnel. At the least 24 to 7 personnel. In my opinion only -I feel supervision and management-they are not people person and seems like they don't care if you work hard or not-you are only a number to them-the most productive people that work-they put more work on them and leave the unproductive personel alone-it seems like to me-these are only in my opinion. The USPS they do pay you real good and over-time also. The USPS is improving little at a time! I feel they are now just realizing people that are working in the USPS is the backbone of the organization. Besides this, I work at a part-time home base business. Want to know what it is, ask me! Bye! Military Go to my bios its all there.
