Larry's Story

Life Married to my best friend in 1961, Sonia Pedersen, who I met at CLC JR College in Camrose (Went to school during the day and worked a full time job at night because my folks were poor and could not help with my Univ. expenses. We went to Univ in Edmonton in the following year. We have 3 sons, Keevin (1962), Lance (1963) (YES, WE HAD 2 BEFORE WE REALIZED WHAT CAUSED THEM AND THEN ABOUT A 1/4 OF A CENTURY LATER WE HAD Jonathon in 1985!!!!! who has graduated from Univ. in 2008 and has taken a job in Korea Taught school for a long time.. Mathematics in High School at the Foothills Composite in Okotoks (also taught at the Vegreville Composite), was principal for 8 years at Craigmyle and Botha. Our rentals properties, writing a column in one of the local papers, delivering the local paper twice a week, and my Brain Teaser business keep me pretty busy. Sonia is some what retired from her private counselling business. Have 6 grandkids, oldest has completed her 3rd year of University, in 2009. Quite pleased with my sons and their families. Satisfied with my life. Workplace My first real job after university was being Principal of Craigmyle School (grade 1 thru 8) 1962-1965. In 1965, I accepted the principalship of the Botha School (1 thru 9) 1965-1970. In 1970, I accepted a job at the Composite School in Vegreville 1970-1973, got a job offer from New South Wales, Australia, decided not to accept for my Dad was worried that he would never see me again, have ...Expand for more
never regretted that decision.. Finishing off my teaching career in Okotoks Senior-Junior High School 1973-1984 and Foothills Composite High School 1984-1991. I was on disability (root canals almost caused my demise but was saved by the local dentist who did some research into why I was so sick and discovered that the roots canals were the cause and pulled them all out -- started to feel better right away but it was several years before I regained my health) until I went on pension in 1997. For the last several years, I have created, manufactured, and sold Brain Teasers (over 1/4 million dollars to date) which I am quite proud of. I have travelled as far south as Coutts, east to Saskatoon, west to Edson, and north to Cold Lake to sell my puzzles. Have made quite a few friends this way. Dec 23, 2012, Just signed up for another 6 months with classmates, after a long absence, also just returned from a selling tour (selling my Brain Teasers), Athabasca, Whitecourt, Edson (just realized that I have been spelling Edson incorrectly, here I thought that I was too old to learn anything new, fooled myself once again) , Drayton Valley and about 30 other towns. Best of the Season to you all. I am letting my subscription to Classmates expired at the end of June, 2013. I am in the book, High River, Alberta, if you would care to contact me, I would be pleased to hear from you. Although don't leave it too long as my memory is starting to fade. I wish you a great life. Adios
