Life
Iam still here, alive and kicking. Yes I am suprised that I lived this long too. Life has been great to me, and is still treating me better than I deserve. I have a great woman and great kids and a great life. Still am on two wheels most of the time, just picked up my new Harley and am looking foreward to wearing this one out like I did all the others. After all these years it is still a thrill. So far I have been to 37 states and logged over 400,000 miles. After 40 years of riding the mileage does add up! The youngest grandchild just came over to go swimming so my quiet time just ended. Well I guess it is time to put on the swim trunks and open up a cold Coors, you know that grandpa thing. Well I am back. After school I did 8 years in the army, was planning on making it a a 20 year stint but it got too political for me. It seemed like being a good soldier wasnt good enough. nt. After I got here and got settled in I got in with some guys that were running a AA/Fuel Altered. The N.H.R.A. outlawed these about 30 years ago but there were still tracks that booked them for special shows. Although there was money in it there wasnt near enough, so after a season we pulled the plug, man it cost a fortune to have that much fun. Now it is golf, travel, and of course Vegas for my wife and I. We still go to NASCAR and the drags here in Arizona, California, and Texas when we are there. When motorcycle trips come up it is easy because my wife has her own. Life is good! To sum it all up, I won a few,I lost a few, But no regrets.
Military
When your draft # is 1 there isnt much you can do but join and try for something good. Did that happen, no because I didnt listen to people that that knew better. Was the military good for me, yes! Would I do it again under thoes same circumstances, yes but I would listen to other people that knew and choose what would be best for me and not some enlistment person that is only worried about his quota.
