Larry's Story
I guess I'll begin by letting everyone know that I actually graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1961. When I initially registered with Classmates I made an entry error and it stuck. Also, since I lived in Alexandria, IN through 8th grade, I wanted to learn whom from the class of 61 (the year I would have graduated from Alexandria Monroe High School had I still lived there) may have joined Classmates. My apologies for the confusion.
After leaving HS I went to Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, TN only to learn I did not want to be a mechanic. So I enlisted in the US Air Force where I spent 27 years as a weight and balance technician flying all over the world on heavy cargo aircraft. Of those 27 years I was directly assigned Japan 4 years, Vietnam 2 years, Korea 1 year and Thailand 1 year. The last 18 years I was assig...Expand for more
ned to Travis AFB, CA, 50 miles east of San Francisco. There, I was an air crew member on the C5 Galaxy, the largest cargo aircraft in the US. I ended my career with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E9) the highest enlisted grade. After the AF I attended Sacramento State University and earned a BS degree in Business Management. I then began work with national cellulose insulation manufacturer with 12 factories in the US and Canada. I started as a Traffic Manager for two factories and through my 17.5 years with the company I worked as Territory Sales Director, Company Safety Director and lastly, Plant Manager of the Sacramento, CA factory. I retired in October 2005 and now live 6 to 8 months per year in Hong Kong with my Chinese wife. The remaining time we live in a small city in CA.
Well, thats my story. Hope you were not too bored.
