Larry's Story
I practiced law in Augusta, Georgia for 50 years, having graduated from USC Law School in 1962. My first wife, Sandra, died in October, 2013, following a marriage of 52 years. I have two grown children, Lora Bollinger(48) and John Broyles(45), and three grandchildren, Chris Bollinger (20), Alden Broyles (14) and Andrew Broyles (10). I married Youla Henson on November 30, 2016.
I graduated from USC Law School in February, 1962. My first job was as a trial attorney for the Regional Counsel's office of the Internal Revenue Service in Nashville TN, later transferring to Atlanta. mary focus on tax and probate matters. I finally retired on October 31, 2017 after 55 years of practicing law. It was a great run but time to go.
My personal and professional life have been good and rewarding , with the notable exception of the unexpected death of my wife, Sandra,, whom I loved since I was 20 years old and a junior at Carolina . My children are well educated,healthy, employed in professional jobs and a constant source of pride and joy.
I remember my years at Dreher with fondness and no small degree of appreciation. I was astonished my freshman year at Carolina how far ahead Dreher graduates were of others from high schools around the state.
Lawyers need to write well and often. I like to think Helen Thomas set me on the right course in the 11th grade.
