Larry's Story
I went to J.W. Smith, 3rd-6th. Then on to the Bemidji Junior high. That was back at the old Jr. high. During the start of 8th grade, I went to kitzigen Germany. To be with my step mom, and Dad. He was stationed there in the Army.
I completed most of the year there, and when I returned I then lived in Bagley. There I finished most of 8th grade, and then continued to live in Bagley, I graduated Bagley in 86'.
In 88' I moved to Hutchinson to pursue my interest in audio engineering and recording. Completing one year of the two year course.
Within a few years later I became the house tech for a nightclub,and concert venue at a large casino. Later following the opportunity to expand my dream, I moved to Ft. Myers, Florida. There I became the head of the sound Department for a large performing arts hall. Working with Broadway touring shows, ballets, comedians, rock and country national acts, oldies, and even the Magic of David Copperfield. ecame a union member of the Local#647 IASTE and worked as a stagehand, sound tech, video tech, carpenter, lighting, props, and rigging. I also toured two summers with a large production company working with big name touring bands. Doing sound and lights. My resume is long, and I've worked with many big name acts, and stars.
I've been married 3 times, and have 3 boys. Two bio, and one not. I now am a single dad raising the youngest two on my own. The older of the two I have adopted as my own. Now I am mostly retired, and am a co- owner of a medium size regional sound, and lighting company. I am not the big achiever compared to many I grew up with,. but I have lived most of my dreams. I live a meager, and simple life, in a small town, and live in a small home.
Each day I strive to be a good dad, and be a better person than I was the day before. Life is full of regrets, and every day I try not to repeat my mistakes.
I feel that I have been blessed with many things. Family, friends, and everything I need, and most of what I want.
