Larry's Story
Right after graduation I entered the Air Force were I received training as a jet mechanic and upon graduating was stationed with the Strategic Air Command 93rd Bomber Wing at Castle Air Force Base in Merced Calif. I married my beautiful, loving wife of 44 years in the summer of 1965 and we lived in Merced until my discharge in 1967. We moved to Ventura County for a few years, I went back to school on my GI bill studying Design Drafting and Technical Illustrating at Sawyer School of Business in Ventura where I graduated in 1970. Our first Daughter was also born that year and we moved back to Orange County. We bought our first home in Westminster where our second daughter was born. d to start my own business. I became a Licensed Swimming Pool and Landscape contractor in 1982 and retired in 2004, well semi retired anyway. We have three beautiful grandchildren who are the joy of our life and a 17-year-old cocker spaniel. I always drive by Orange High when we go home after eating at Islands on Tustin Ave. and we often walk the stores in Old Town Orange, it is and always will be home.
OH!
by the way if you're wondering about the name change. My mother remarried during my senior year at Orange High and my new father started adoption procedures before I graduated which were not completed until after I had joined the military. Boy was that a fiasco, never change your name while in the military, paper work, paper work, paper work.
P.S.
If by chance any old members of the Orange, Romans car club are out there give me a yell.
