Larry's Story
Hello Wildcats, I feel so blessed to still be alive to tell part of my story. God has been the head of my life even in our days in High School at Linear. It has been quite the adventure. After our May 1968 graduation from Linear, I was able to compete and win an academic scholarship to Southern University-Shreveport. I was blessed to be the Sophomore Class President in the 1969-1970 semester. After successfully maintaining the B+ average, I was awarded an academic scholarship to Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA. I was thankful to God Almighty that He kept me out of Vietnam and allowed me to finish my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. I did also finish my Military Science program and was commissioned 2nd. Lieutenant, U. S. Army Military Police Corp. on Dec, 17th, 1971. God blessed me to be a distinguished Military Graduate with high honors. I received the American Legion Award for Academic Excellence. graduated Cum Laude, in Business Administration on Dec. 17th, 1971 and was the Class Marshall and ranked first in the College of Business in December , 1971. My family was very proud and attended the graduation just prior to my twenty first birthday. I went on to a two year tour of duty in the U. S. Army, honorably discharged as 1st Lieutenant and awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
Then it was on to Corporate America with God as my Guide and Sustainer. There are so many blessings too numerous to name how God guided my life and success. As I look back at almost my 50th year since graduating I can truthfully say it has been an adventure in faith.
As I look back with my wife Jeri these almost 50 years of marriage, it has been a faith led journey with our God leading. Trust and obey God , accept His son Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and He will bless you exceedingly above all you can imagine or think. I hope your life journey has been a faith led one as has ours. God bless.
