Larry's Story
well to make a long story short.
I joined the U.S. Marine Corp two months after graduation in 68'. I served four years I lost Four of my best friends I considered brothers and 23 other guys I knew well and a few guys came back wounded this included Art Indie who I visited in the Naval Hospital, to the Vietnam War. From all this I suffered a mental disorder called P.T.S.D. (Post Trumatic Stress Disorder). Which sent me in a world wind of Alcohol and sutstance abuse. This involved violence,detroyed

tterly miserable. This went on for forty years. At least six times I tried taking my own life. Then November 2004 I entered a drug treatment program at Fort Miley. From that point on I have been clean and sober except for a relapse of one day in 2005. I now work for the organization that helped me. The organization is Swords to Plowshares and I work as a peer counselor on Treasure Island helping veterans from the middle east theater of war.I regret nothing in my life because it brought me to where Iam NOW helping others.
