I was 18 years old back then, now, at 65, I thank God every day I wake up, 'cause as we know, some of our Dear friends have already left us. I live in the beautiful State of California, in San Diego County, where I have been since the Army brought me here back in 1976. I have been blessed with 4 Daughters, 3 Sons, 4 Granddaughters and 4 Grandsons, obvio...Expand for more
usly a handful at Parties, Birthdays and OMG! Christmas! But, although I've been blessed with beautiful, wonderful and loving Children and Grandchildren, I wasn't so fortunate in choosing the right partner, So, I'll just have to live my Senior years having lots of fun with no one telling me what I can't do, I think I can live with that, anyways, I hope to meet any Old Rocket or Tiger friend some day, I'm sure we could find a good topic to chat about, hope to see one of my old friends soon,,

A typical day for the women in Afghanistan, coming home from market.
One method of transportation in Afghanistan, most likely the safest, once you're in the air....
Inside a C130 going to JAF, in Afghanistan, me and my buddy Dewanes..
First quarters in Afghanistan, waiting to be assigned my area of operation, just me and Black Beauty!
Always smiling, heading to my first Combat Post, via air transport...
It was hot this day, a few rounds came my way, but after the fight, I'm all smiles, just glad to still be here..
Driving by the Afgan version of 7-11...
In spite of the battle surrounding his family, he still manages to smile, thanking us for being there...
LT, walking thru a market in Afghanistan, no worries, there's two MRAPS watching over him, fully armed with MK-19's and 50 cal's...
So, you still want to complain about your butcher, there's no refrigeration here, nothing to preserve the meat, cut it today, eat it today, or else...
A daily patrol thru the fields of Afghanistan, spirits are always high...
This little one, just stumbled upon our patrol, a bit scared, but we assured her she was fine, she liked that we praised her beautiful outfit...
On patrol thru the fields of Afghanistan, always smiling, no matter what, at 56 years of age at that time, I was just happy to be there with all these young men, I will never forget these moments...
Two little ones strolling in front of our patrol, we are their X Box, they have nothing to entertain them...
In front of the T.O.C, with my Captain, and his interpreter...
