Larry's Story

Hi Everyone! I cannot believe it has been 36 years since we graduated!! Obviously a lot has happened in your life as well mine in that timeframe! I have been married for 18 years and have 5 children ranging in age from 13 to 5 (3 girls 13, 12,11 and 2 boys 9 & 5). I have worked at General Dynamics Land Systems for 28 years with the first 10 years being in Finance and the last 18 in Human Resources. We have been very blessed as the Company has been great to us and I have never updated my resume in 28 years! We have lived in Clarkston for the past 12 years and prior to that we lived in Kuwait for 3 years as the Company asked me to go there to head up the HR organization from 1995-98. Having not gotten married until 2 weeks before my 36th birthday, I am just now experiencing the enjoyment of cheerleading, gymnastics, baseball, softball, travel hockey, golf and any other sport/activity time permits. s of '80). Tim and I got involved in commercial real estate in Scotsdale, AZ back in 1996 and and are still active in it. With the recent housing downturn, we decided to get into the local housing market back in 2008. Since then we have collectively purchased around 80 houses. With so many people having a difficult time getting bank funding, we have sold the majority of the houses on land contracts and rent out the balance. To take advantage of this market, we recently considered outside investors and now have people investing their self-directed IRA's and cash investments at a high interest rate that is secured by real estate that has no debt or liens against them. In an environment where most people's IRA's have either lost money or remained stagnant over the last 5-6 years, this is a great opportunity to make an investment that is secured by a hard asset.
