Life I currently work in Austin for the Texas Department of Agriculture. After Jan. 20, 2017, I had to look for honest work. I sold my house in Virginia and moved home to Texas after 28 years of political exile in plowboy purgatory. I was most recently in Washington D.C. on my second tour with the U.S. Department of Agriculture -- this time as the Administrator of the Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration. Previously I was a partner in a consulting firm. Prior to that I was the CEO of the American Corn Growers Association. I previously left the federal government on Jan. 20, 2001 where I was an S.O.B. (Servant of Bill), better known as a presidential appointee. There I had served as Deputy Administrator for Farm Programs of USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Deputy Vice President of the Commodity Credit Corporation.
