Larry's Story
Graduated Campbell HS 1960. Served in the Navy-air 1960-1966, this included active duty in San Diego 1960 to 1963 including 14 months on board the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard in the far east and then 3 years of reserve 1963 to 1966 in San Jose. Received BA from San Jose State in Social Work in the mid seventies. Right out of college spent 6 years with Big Brothers/Big Sisters as a caseworker. California, Indiana and Michigan, this included 17 years as an executive director. Last work station with Red Cross was Merced, CA., taking retirement in 2008 and returning home to San Jose. Came out of retirement in 2009, working for Sierra Club, as executive director from 2009-2011 and then retired again. And then came out of retirement a 2nd time and directed a small non-profit last year and finally stopped working this past January 2014.
