Larry's Story
Left Clio, as a "dropout", in May 1966, went to Virginia with my mother after my parent's divorce. Joined the Army 12/66 and was honorably discharged 2/75. Served two tours in Vietnam, both as a volunteer, was awarded the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Cross of Gallantry and several other awards. My first duty tour was with the 1st Cavalry Division at An Khe in the Central Highlands. My second duty tour was with MACV Advisory Team #68 in the Mekong Delta as an advisor to the South Vietnamese "Regional & Popular Forces" (aka. "Ruff Puff"). Received my high school GED 7/68, AA degree 6/74 and BA degree 12/75. Became a member of the Mensa Society 9/80. Admitted to CMU Graduate School 6/83 (MA-Economics Curriculum) but circumstances prevented my actual attendance. Married 1971, divorced 1996. One son who graduated from Northwood University last year (BBA- Cum Laude). My son is just beginning Graduate School to earn h...Expand for more
is Master of Business Administration degree and is the "delight of my life". I am retired on VA disability compensation (service-connected) and Social Security. After the Army I worked mostly as a caseworker/counselor but (briefly) also sold insurance (YUCK!!) and dabbled in some other things too. I drive a pristine/restored 93 Cadillac, collect art (my latest acquistion is a 19" W x 43"H bronze "Flower Arranging" by Moreau), enjoy reading, watching the news and "staying up on events" .I prefer Fox News over the other networks and support Donald Trump. Yes, I still enjoy smoking (without apologies). To this day I wish I had done better in high school, being a "dropout" is a really stupid mistake for a person to make. But, back then I was a KID - as we ALL WERE. I would enjoy hearing from any of you who remember me and would enjoy discussion, etc. Best wishes to all my former classmates (well, ALMOST ALL).
