Larry's Story

Well life has turned the tables on me this year. I have been taken down with cancer. The treatment and surgery is over and the outlook is good at this time I’m cancer free for now. The hard part was telling my Dad I had it. But god step in and has taken care of me and my family. Well everything else is the same I’m happy and life goes on. Life is only what you make it. I have found that the hills and valley all have something to offer if you take the time to open your eyes and look. Thing I thought I would never do I have done. I have been a teacher to those who wanted to learn. I found that the giving of myself has made me happy in the thing I have done. It took time to find the person I'm today but that person is who I have become is alright. There are people in the past and present that have help me shape the person I am today. Today so many year later money and things don't seem to matter like they once did. I've work with some of the best companies and have loved what I'm doing. After 35 years as an engineer I can truly say it's been great. I'm a little older and wider now than I was back then. But the time and years have been fun. I enjoy the state of mind when you find yourself. I have grand kids ranging in age from 20 to 6 and love them all I'm the Poppa the thinks that a trip to the toy store is a great outing for them. You know what they think that way too. The older ones like taking Poppa car shopping or clothes depending on the time of year and the size of Poppa bank account. I remember School as we all do up early, homework, test and working hard for grades. Thing have not change a whole l...Expand for more
ot still up early still take work home instead of test I now have inspections and working hard is still the same maybe a little harder depending on the day. Looking through the list I see many names and at time wonder what they’re doing now? Looking back over the list of names so many of them showed me so many difference roads that could be traveled? Some good some bad! But if I hadn't travel those roads I would not be were I'm today. Well except for some short cuts here and there the roads with all the curves and up and down was always the right one. I tell my kids and grandkids there no short cuts just the road you always get there on that road and instead of back tracking it's faster than the short cuts. Well it 40 years from school I wonder how many of us reach the goals we had in school. Did we make the right turns on the road to happiness! Were we all seeing stars back than I know I was! I never thought of working in hotels or hospitals or being able to control as many different things as I do. Here I'm doing just that and loving every minute of it. Time has that funny way of taking care of things. Family, friends and what you do is who you are. Who would have guess that life was really so easy? How many of us took classes and said to ourselves? Well self why I'm I sitting here and what good does these do me? What use will I ever get out of this? My all time favor was who care were the. , ? ! : ¿ goes anyway. Well I guess we have all found that what we learn is important now. Oh well it's time to admit that to our parents, teacher were right. But I still don't understand how cutting up a frog help?
