I have spent my life producing in the entertainment industry as a Sound Engineer for Concerts, Broadway Theater, Movies and Television. More about that in the Workplace Bio above. I was for 10 years the Head Sound Engineer at the Auditorium Theater on Michigan Ave.
Married Sandra Aldrich from Worth in 1980 and had 2 sons, Kevin 31 and Brian 29. In 2000 I moved to the country in unincorporated Will County. Previously I owned a home in Palos Park for 14 years. I enjoy motor homing around the west with my Harley in tow. I volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America for 15 years and was Cubmaster and Scoutmaster of the Year. OK, so I'm a Type A overachiever, who would of figured that back in high school? Life has been good and I wish everyone success and happiness. Larry
Workplace
I set up and or produce, direct and mix live sound at the following venues. The United Center, Sears Center, Toyota Park, Allstate Arena, Rosemont Theater, Tweeter Center, Soldier Field, Navy Pier, Chicago Theater, Palace Theater, Oriental Theater, Lasalle Bank Theater, Arie Crown Theater and the Auditorium Theater. Often IÃÂm the sound guy you see in the audience at the sound board other times IÃÂm back stage, under stage or on stage in the wing. In TV I've done Bozo,Springer and have worked for ABC, CBS, NBC, WGN, and FOX TV studios and news.
I was the Head Sound Engineer at the Auditorium Theater for 10 years and did all shows on that schedule. I mix at the other listed venues as well. My over 200 different concert clients have included: Stones, Aerosmith, Bruce Springstein, John Cougar, The Who, Neil Young, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Madonna, Tim and Faith, Shania, Chicago, Grateful Dead, Dave Mathews, Sting,Jimmy Buffet, R Kelly, Mary J Blige, Sheryl Crowe, Carol King, Lisa Minelli, Diana Ross, Ac Dc,Z Z Top, Beach Boys and many,many others. WWF, and The Letterman Show live from the Chicago Theater.
My Broadway Theater shows include over 67 different plays including: Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Showboat, Aida for Elton, Mamma Mia, Lion King, The Producers: for Mel Brooks, Jersey Boys, Pirate Queen, Grease, Cats, Oklahoma, King and I, Evita, Movin Out, Beauty and the Beast, Fame, Wizard of Oz, Cabaret and lots of others.
Ballets are a staple at the Auditorium and I love them. It is home to the Joffrey Ballet and they do 4 shows a year. Also included are The Bolshoi and Eiffman Ballets from Russia, the Peking Ballet Company, the Taiwan Ballet Company, Dance Africa, Alvin Ailey Ballet and many others.
I have worked for 8 Presidents of the United States: Nixon, Ford, Carter, Regan, Bush, Clinton and George Bush Jr and Barack Obama. Presidents Nixon, Ford and Carter were very nice to me. I hate politics but always seem to be doing one press conference or another from Henry Kissinger to Hilary and all in between. I mixed all the press conferences for the 85 Bears championship season and the Bulls championships and Michaels MVP Awards. I Worked for Clinton, Gore and Hillary at the Democratic National Convention (I had to play "Takin Care of Buisness" for their walk on- Ha).I was head of production for Barack Obama Election Night in Grant Park for over 250,000 people with over 990 press feeds and 90 satellite feeds around the world.
I have produced over 4000 corporate shows as well. These arena and Ballroom shows are really large productions often taking days to set up and they always have private entertainment such as Barbara Mandrel. Some interesting keynote speakers have been General Swartzkopf,Chuck Yeager, Henry Kissinger,Mikhail Gorbochef and Rudy Giuliani,Donald trump and Tony Robins. You name them I've probably worked with them.
