Noth High graduate needs help! I have been a pilot for 43 years and the last 20 years I have been a designated pilot examiner for the FAA Orlando Flight Standards District Office (FSDO-15). Due to the medical issues to follow, I have lost my flight medical certificate and therefore my job and income. About five years ago, the VA issued me leg braces due to severe degenerative arthritis of both knees. I wore the braces for three years with no lasting effects. The VA would not approve knee replacement surgery at that time. I was also diagnosed with third stage kidney failure and moderate COPD. In April of 2017, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and endured 45 straight days of radiation therapy. After obtaining private insurance through Humana, in October of 2017 I had a full left knee replacement. In December of 2017, I then had right knee replacement.
