Laura's Story
Life
I am married to Victor and we have 3 wonderful sons, Kody, Matthew and Adam. Kody is 15 and a freshman in high school (boy do I feel old)! He loves sports and plays football, baseball and basketball - we never have a day off! My middle son is Matthew. He will be 5 in two days and will be starting kindergarten in the fall. He also loves sports, especially swimming and anything involving a ball. He and Vic spend many hours in the backyard playing catch these days. My youngest little guy is Adam. He is two and full of boundless energy and enthusiasm. He keeps us all in stitches with the cute and creative ways he comes up with to cause unending chaos in our home. My husband Victor is the most incredible blessing in my life. I never believed in love at first sight until I met Vic, but he has convinced me! He is a singer and a music pastor. We met bowling together on a church sports league while I was in college. He is my soul mate and my best friend and I can't imagine my life existed before he came into it. e beautiful and energetic (self preservation - someone has to wear out those boys!). We also have 2 cats, Tyler who is 14 and Miss Kitty who is 8 (she came to live with us by way of my sister, Jennifer - the two did not see eye-to-eye). Rounding out the Christman zoo are 3 chinchillas: Cloudy, Midnight and Stuart Little, and guinea pig named Cinderella. We are very involved in our church and our community and there is never a dull moment to be found. Who would have thought you could go for so many years with so little sleep? HAHA. I wouldn't change a thing if I could.
I have been an RN for the last 11 years working as a staff nurse at a local hospital. I spent several years doing Cardiovascular Intensive Care nursing and several more doing Pediatric nursing, both of which I enjoyed immensely. I am now also a lactation consultant and get to spend my days working with new moms and babies. I have definitely found my niche and can't imagine doing anything else. I feel very blessed to have found a job that I truly enjoy and can look forward to going to every day.
