Laura's Story
Life
I married at 17 - 3 weeks out of high school - and divorced 11 years ago. I have 2 daughters, 2 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 2 great granddaughters. I lived in various places such as San Bernardino, Corona, Highland Park (LA), San Jose, and finally Stockton (south of Sacramento). I have lived in Stockton since 1977.

l I began working for the City of Stockton in 1980. I started in Accounts Payable (3 1/2 years), transferred to Revenue Services as a Cashier (5 1/2 years), and then promoted to an Office Specialist in Human Resources. I stayed with Human Resources for 16 years and retired on 1/31/06. I am now working part-time for the City of Stockton, since I found that staying home 100% of the time gets boring pretty darn quickly.
