Laura's Story
Soooo-I got married to David Sequeira in high school-between my Junior and Senior year (and I was such a studious soul that I am sure people were shocked that I actually had sex, much less knew anything about it...). David joined the Army and we moved--to Colorado, then Arizona (such exotic places). Then we divorced after 4 years and a daughter born in 1977. I went to nursing school at UH while working at Kekela at Queen's Hospital, moved to Texas (my parents had relocated there and Hawaii was too expensive for a single mom). I lived in Fort Worth, had two more sons (not married). David and I reconnected (besides as the divorced parents of a daughter) in 1996. I moved up to Seattle (actually Puyallup, but no one knows where that is) in 1996. We remarried in 1999, so have been married longer...Expand for more
this time than last--and it is going very well. He had two sons from his second marriage. They also lived with us--so four boys verrrry close in age at once while working on a new marriage--a good time to be had by all!! I still work as a nurse, currently in the ICU, which I mostly enjoy, when the sadness of some of the outcomes of the patients doesn't overwhelm me. My daughter Leslie is now 32 and a CPA with a great new son-in-law Kevin and my 7 year-old bundle of energy granddaughter Kylie (they are the two in my profile picture). My oldest son Chris, and youngest two sons Philip and Craig all work and go to college. My second oldest son Steven is in the Marines married to my facebook-obsessed daughter-in-law Sara and adorable grandson Aiden. So life is an adventure...and I am grateful.
