Laura's Story
Went to high school at Urbandale until middle of my junior year, then moved to Jefferson. I still think of both places as my "hometowns". After high school I did the college thing. I tried 3 times before I finally got a degree at 40 - after stalling for various reasons. I married at 24 but waited until 34 to have my daughter. I've lived in Iowa, Indiana, Alabama, Indiana again, and finally back home to Iowa in 2003. I still have a warped sense of humor, love to laugh but don't like jokes. ommunity with Swim Team board, Community Players (theatre), a charitable board, and have just added church council. I still have good contact with many of my close friends from the many "stages" of my life - as far back as 3 years old! I still read voraciously, and that's my favorite thing for a winter day. I am marginally involved in a business with a friend of mine - "re-purposing" junk into treasures. I would love to have the time to get more involved - I definitely need a creative outlet.
For now I am happy with my small-town life in Jefferson but look forward to connecting with old friends - wherever they are!
