Laura's Story
I live in Abilene, Tx. I am divorced, married the first time for 10 yrs and have 2 grown sons from that marriage,, T.J ( Timothy James) and Jake ( Jacob) , Jake is married to my beautiful daughter in law Ruth, they have blessed me with two beautiful grandsons, Liam who is 2 and Locke who is 6 mos. TJ has a beautiful girlfriend Whitney and she has beautiful daughter Jaycee, we've added both of them to our family. I love being a Nana more than anything and love time with my precious grandbabies any chance I can get, I married again in '95 and that lasted till '99, Been single ever since, I love my independence and doing what I want , when I want. I am very happy with my life as it is.
I am retired from the home health care industry after 20 odd yrs,and since 2012. I spend my days at home with my pets or with my bestfriend out having a girls day. I love family time and Nana time.
I found out I had cervical cancer in Nov. 2012 and had a radical hysterectomy, when I got my results back 3 days later I found out I had uretine cancer too. All was taken care of with the surgery, I am now a cancer survivor and strong advocate of women getting their yearly check ups, it's so very important.

ch more precious. As you can see life has been a journey and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I didn't actually graduate in '79, I quit 2 months before graduation because I would have had to go another year, because the School I transferred from required less credits. I really didn't want to graduate at 19. So I went to work.
I got my GED and did the actual graduation for my family in 2002. My boys were proud and it was a good feeling to accomplish that. It's never too late to do it or to continue your education.
So that's my life such as it's been, I hope everyone else has had a life full of journeys as well.
At Lewisville High I was in HERO and DECA and Choir. I was an assistant at Degan Elementary School in a kindergarten class. I can't remember the teacher's name but she was very nice. I loved choir, it was also fun and we had a really cool choir teacher. In HERO we went to the Windmill Dinner Theatre and saw Bob Crane in a funny play, I believe it was just a very short time before he was murdered. That was very sad.
I have some great memories of LHS, I ran around with Ginger Whitlock, Mike Schoultz, Sonja ( Cobb?) and David Ruby. There were others but those were my main friends, I met my husband at Ginger and Mike's wedding.
