Laura's Story

Life I am 27 now! Crazy how time goes by so fast. My husband and I have been married for 6 years. We have a 3 year old Daughter. Sometimes I wonder if she's really mine because she is SO smart and has the CUTEST personality. We are expecting another shortly, I'm very excited to meet him and hold my new baby boy. We are currently living with my parents, in Roy. We've been here since Daphne, my daughter, was 6 months old. We are looking for another place. It's been nice living rent free, but it's time we get back on our own. Right now I'm working Full-time at Mckay Dee Hospital. I work in their Food & Nutrition Dept. I'm the Lead on their Room Service line. So if you were to eat there as a patient I would be the one who put together your tray. I'm what they call an Expeditor. It can be stressful especially when you have 150 trays coming through the line in 3 - 4 hours, and that's just one meal. After High School I went to the Ogden ATC for Medical Assisting. Honestly it wasn't really what I was looking for in a career. I really didn't EVER want to be in the medical field. I went there, because my sister was going as well. We went to EVERY class together and finished about the same time. Well, she actually didn't finish, but I did. LoL. I went on quite a lot of interviews and was pretty close to getting one, but all of them seemed like they wanted someone with MORE experience. Which in itself is lame because how can you get experience if NO ONE will hire you. A little background of how my husband and I met. I was dating a guy for about 2 and a half years during and a little after high school. I met Bryce, my husband, on the internet the summer before I was with the other guy. We lost touch and I dated this other guy. Bryce mailed me a christmas card wh...Expand for more
ile he was on his mission in Oklahoma. We wrote back and forth until November of 2000 when he returned home. I broke up officially with my boyfriend the day Bryce came home. Bryce and I have been together since Christmas of 2000, he proposed May of 2001. We were married April of 2002 in the Salt Lake Temple. We lived in Salt Lake with his parents for about a year after we were married. We moved to Layton and lived in an Apartment. We were there for about a year and a half. After we had Daphne I quit my full-time job at Mckay Dee Hospital. We realized then we couldn't afford our bills, so we moved in with my Parents in July of 2005. For those who have had kids already, you know how much of a joy and a stuggle they are. Daphne had a rough start in life. She was only born a week before she was due, which I had to be induced. She was 9 lbs, 1 oz. so she wasn't tiny or anything. She though spent a month and a half in the N.I.C.U., because she couldn't eat an entire bottle by herself. She would take an hour at times just to eat 3 or 4 ounces of milk. It was very hard for her and for her parents as well. I spent everyday at the hospital with her, a very boring time, but I couldn't leave her up there by herself. She is now 3 almost 4 like I said before, and she is just a joy! Me and her have alot of fun being girls together and painting our toes, reading books, or watching a tv show. Like a said before too, we are expecting our second child here shortly. I'm already for him to come, just basically counting down the days. I even have mine and his hospital bags ready. I would really like it if we could have him for Christmas. I spend enough time at the hospital as it is, I don't really want to spend Christmas there. LoL. Well, that's my life so far since High School.
