Laura's Story
I think it would surprise most of you who remember me that the very shy, bookish young woman you knew is now a Special Lecturer at Oakland University and an adjunct faculty member at Macomb Community College. I went into the teaching profession, what I had always dreamed of pursuing, after being an Executive Secretary for almost 20 years. During that time, I earned two Associate Degrees, a Bachelors, and a Masters. In the past couple of years, I have finished the coursework for my Ph.D. in English at Wayn...Expand for more
e State University. Next comes the oral exam and then the dissertation. One of the proposed texts for my dissertation is John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath. Thank you Mrs. Ryan for making us read that magnificent novel.
On a personal level, I have been entirely too busy with working and studying to even think of pursuing a romantic relationship. While physically I cannot have children, I have been blessed with seven nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews who are the light of my life.
