Laura's Story
Life
Graduated from Troy State University in 1985 with a B.S. in Music Education. Have been teaching band since then in various places around Georgia. Began teaching in Macon in 1994. Bought my first house in 1998 in Byron, GA. I live about six miles from my parents. It is wonderful to be home again! In 2003, I became a high school band director for the very first time. ing that very first band. I highly recommend everyone working at a brand new school at least once in their lives! As much fun as working at Rutland High School was (man, I really loved teaching high school--I really didn't think i would like it at ALL), in 2007, I left Rutland (truly a dream job) to return to Northside Middle School--the school where I became a true band geek. So, as you see, I have come full circle--I now teach at the school I went to as an adolescent. I am looking for a new house. Perhaps that will happen soon.
