Laura's Story
Laura is from Evergreen, Colorado. Laura's schools include Westbury High School. Laura later attended The Fashion Institute of Technology. I worked my way up to Associate Buyer for the NY office of Belk Stores (over 500 department stores).
I left NY with my first husband and moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Not a good choice. I experienced a verbal abusive marriage gaining a lot of weight. I joined Weight Watchers, lost the weight and my public speaking began as a Weight Watcher Leader for 5 years.
At the young age of 39 I became a long distance caregiver for both of my parents. I lived in Dallas and they lived in Lake Worth, Fla. I made so many mistakes (not being prepared) I found my passion to be a public speaker and the importance of communication with your parents now (or if your parents are gone) it is your responsibility to discuss this issues with your adult children. My purpose was to help others not go down the path I took, but redirect them to get through the caregiving maze easier.

I am so lucky to have met David Stark in Dallas. We have been married 14 years in November. I'm crazy about our dog, Hershey (so is David). I could not take living in Dallas anymore. I just said to David, "Hey, let's go look at Colorado and see if we want to move here. We are 7,600 feet elevation and most of the year surrounded by herds of elk.
I love Evergreen !".
