Laura's Story
After graduation, I attended ABTech in Asheville NC and received my degree in Dental Hygiene. I returned to MD and worked for a dentist in SW Washington DC. I got married the cousin of my High Point friend,, Beverly Jackson. I contemplated attending Dental School at WVU so we moved to Martinsburg, WV. I changed my mind and we adopted 7 boys instead. WVU Masters Degree in Elem. EDU which I completed in 1994. During my time at Shepherd, I had my only daughter (now 35) with 2 boys and 2 girls who live near me in Hartwell, GA. I also had my "baby son" who is 32 and 6 ft 6 inches. My husband died of cancer in 2017. I have survived a stroke, a heart attack and a bad fall down 13 stairs breaking my back, neck, sternum, rib,left arm and both hands. I have been blessed because I can walk and enjoy life. Hope we are having a 50th reunion.
