Laura's Story

I have the privilege of being married to the most selfless and irrepressibly romantic man in the world. He works tirelessly for others. Things he would never tell you about himself: He is called and ordained to be an Elder in our local church, insists on a standard of excellence in all he does - Worship Leader, designer (holidays & special events), preacher, group leader, brother and friend of God. (We made a tough decision to trade in military life 7/227 at Fliegerhorst Kaserne in Germany '92 - '95 for a civilian career in public education.) Not in a wealthy private school, Barry teaches Spanish and French at a government school, serving more than 50% Native American Mohawk students. Barry had opportunities to work for government and private sectors (MI and all of its bennies, too). In July 2009 - Celebrated the birth of our first grandson. (Personally, I like "Yaya" or Mamabear for myself). Our new daughter is a beautiful, intelligent, fun-loving and confident addition to our family. We are so proud of our Kanon and the way doors have opened for him (answered prayers). He completed a B.S. double majors in Business and Accounting, double minors in Finance and German. He now holds an Excellent job with a private firm, as a Cost Analyst, the first employee there to have been promoted before their first full year of work. (You GO, son! We never lost hope that you would be a success.) THAT is the favor of a loving God! Our Sam is about to finish his B.S. in Computer Software Engineering. His debut as a singer was The Unicorn Song, at his Dad'...Expand for more
s 40th Irish Birthday Party in 2004. He has also played for our church coffee house/fund raiser for youth conference attendance at Mt. Zion in Utica, NY.(NICE!) We trust in the God of all provision, purpose and hope, for Sam's abundantly blessed future. Last night (on Mother's Day), he had the patience to watch the original recording of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" , and a local 5th grade teacher's student production of it, with us at home. Crazy, dramatic parents! LOL Our Alejandro (whom we fondly reference as our "little white boy") - a rescued chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier mix - is energetic and well loved, as our church youth group's adopted mascot. Favorite activity: chasing tennis balls, apples, etc. on hikes up and down Titus Mountain, boat rides with his "girl"friend Togo at Lake Titus camp, eating restaurant tidbits, watching his human-pack eating dinner together, Moon Valley firepit parties while stargazing and having satellite-tracking contests between "Mom" and "Dad" throughout the year, and fetching frisbees and launched glowing rubber balls. In addition to living a wonderfully blessed life with my family and friends, I love to bring peaceful and joy-filled thoughts and activities into individual and family therapy sessions. Seeing the smiles on "my" kids faces brings me much happiness and hope. I covet your prayers, as I seek to be a blessing to many in this life. I am not perfect, my walk with Jesus has been difficult at times. But, how else do we know what is good, if we don't recognize what isn't? Be blessed. Life is GREAT!
