Laura's Story
Me in a box? Doesn't fit...sorry folks! : )
How about some high-lights? Starting from 1980:
~Went to U-Mass--dropped out.
~got various jobs on the Cape waitressing etc living in the then BIG city of Hyannis he he he
~went to 4C's --eventually dropped out (twice)
~got into the banking industry
~came to San Francisco in 1984 (the REAL BIG city)
~major drama occurred
~got married in '86 had 2 boys: '90 & '93
~did live TV & stage improv/drama (FUN!!) (ty Mr. Murphy)
~went to local community college for more credits
~got divorced in '94
~still in banking and hated it
~got licensed to own/run my own child care biz in '99
~mind you, drama prevailed : ) through out
~joined my first chorus (ty Ms. Cogshall) 4 years ago and the second one just last July. I sing and dance...compete on a Regional then International level. Four part a capella harmony, barbershop style. I am in leadership positions in both choruses and LOVE it all.
~I have been doing a modeling gig for the past 4 years or so once a year, or when they ask. And no, not for the FAT OLD ladies section. Although, by the looks of the other models there, that's exactly where I belong; they are all 90 pounds or less and over 5'8"...and not even 20 yet.
~I am a California State Certifide Sexual Assault/Trauma Counselor. I work on-call every Saturday with rape survivors. This is a toughie, but it's very rewarding. I began this work over 3 years ago.
~~I remain a faithful Red Sox fan. Patriots (Tom Brady grew up a few blocks away and really does have a nice family), Celtics and Bruins are still my teams too. I am not popular in my own house. : )
~~my boys: RJ is now 17 and graduating from HS this year. He hopes to attend UC, Berkeley and has the grades to do it. He's bilingual (Spanish) as I sent him to an Immersion School from kinder till HS.
Math & history are naturals for him (ty Mr. Fenton: I was able to pass on cultural learning and a love of history to my children).
His sense of fairness and ability to reason/debate are well known.

ield. Watch for him on TV! His other love, beside is gorgeous gal, is soccer. He runs like lightening.
He'll have more stolen bases than Ricky Henderson soon! (I am kidding, but you get the point. It's fun to watch).
Eddie is completing his freshman year (14). He began the Immersion program, but got pulled out in 4th & 5th grades to attend all-day GATE (gifted and talented education) schooling. RJ was in this, too, but just one day a week. He's currently giving the seniors a run for their money in math & science. We are also able to have conversations about Gatsby & the Odyssey (ty to Mrs Ringer, Mr Stot, Ms Webster & Ms Palmer!). He reads my copies from school. So funny. He never, ever thinks inside the box. His ablity to "get it" happens so quickly, people often think he's blowing them off, but instead he's processed it and in step 5 on how to make it better OR turn it into some "realistic" sci-fi thing. He is a kick.
He's a ball player, too. He's the starting pitcher for his frosh-soph team. He's on the basketball team and he's a natural at golf (so I am told...I've never set foot on a field...green...??? whatever. You know what I mean).
Their high school mascot is the Knights! Funny, huh?

LONG story--- but I will start at the end: We are a blended family. I have known him since I moved to California and am the god-mother of his 3 kids as he is the god-father of my 2. Hence, we have raised our children together. (not quite Jerry Springer material, but close). He and I are committed to one another now, but loved one another for over 20 years. The kids are obviously happy and healthy. We have 4 currently living with us and one at UC, Santa Cruz. Phew.
**oh, about those pictures: yes, my hair is different all of the time. I grow it out LONG and then chop it short to donate to a charity called Locks of Love. When it's short, I dye it sassy red. I am blonde in the summer usually and whatever happens inbetween just happens.
