Laura's Story
Life
My husband Paul and I have been married since 1997. I have a daughter from my first marriage and two step children. We both share a love for animals and have dogs, birds and super-sized aquariums. Whenever we can get away, we go to the coast. We especialy enjoy the Mendocino area. I enjoy wine tasting, gourmet cooking, reading when I can. Mostly, I just like to spend quiet time at home with my husband. My life is full of love and happiness. Who could ask for more?
School
I have good memories of high school. The Three Musketeers (me, Julie and Sandy), gym class with Debbie on rainy days when we would use the Ouija board and scare ourselves silly. (we are STILL close friends), kissing my boyfriend behind the lockers back when there were still lockers, taking off for lunch with Julie, Sandy and Gary in Gary's mustang to McDonalds on Watt. Oh yeah, the classes. I love...Expand for more
d Anthropology with Mr Conrad. I learned more from him than when I took it in college. Public Speaking with Ms. Wallis was a great experience for me. (Even though I am still really shy.)
If I could change anything that I did back then, I would have used my time and brains more wisely and pursued a real career instead of just doing well in class and graduating. Other than that, I am very happy with the way my life has turned out. Even the rough times are worth it to me. They are all learning experiences.
Workplace
After fifteen years of working in the world of credit unions, I began working at Intel in 1999. After almost eight years there, I was placed in the nasty world of redeployment. I stayed home for ten months and enjoyed it completely, but started at United Natural Foods in October. It's a good job, very interesting and it's all about food! How bad can that be?
